The story started with artist & DJ from L.A Eric Espinoza “hand-dyeing, hand-sewing, and hand-screen-printing everything” in his backyard, just wanted to make clothes for himself and friends but it became bigger, Ur Not In Fashion (U.N.I.F) was born.
I always dreamed of the underground to go mainstream, and with Unif Clothing it’s almost done. Using controversial designs with some Disney icons as Mickey, Bambi or well known trademark from fashion industry (Fendi, Chanel) Unif Clothing wanna schock, and they’re pretty good. Ur Not In Fashion‘s inspiration comes from streets of Los Angeles and as a DJ, Eric Espinoza takes a leaf out of underground electronic music, but to me Unif Clothing is more punk than electro.
A little bit of trivia “Elle Magazine has anointed the fledgling design house as the only local “Editor’s Pick” from LA Fashion Week” conclusion underground goes mainstream…
